Oregon Wins the CBI

It was a thriller! In the best of three Championship series of the College Basketball Invitational, Oregon lost the first game to Creighton, won the 2nd game, and finally won the third game with :02 seconds left in regulation!

Matthew Knight Arena Opening Celebration, Matt Court, University of Oregon

I thought I'd share some videos and memorabilia from the opening night game at Matthew Knight Arena.
Everyone was given a souvenir ticket.

The "real" ticket.

Phil Knight spoke - movingly I must admit, about his son Matthew and all the work involved in planning and building the arena.  Then there was a very impressive Opening Ceremony.

I know ducks are not scared of heights, but still!
I never could have been lowered from the ceiling like Ducky!

And here's the video.
Enjoy!

This is the last year of Oregon basketball at McArthur Court.
The U of O is in the process of building Matthew Knight Arena.  Above is an illustration of what the new arena will look like.

So as part of honoring the final year of basketball at historic McArthur Court, the University has an honorary player captain and coach captain.
You can see some of the recent honorees above and below.
