Olivia Upton Adams - Will - 1965 - Part Two

The settling of Olivia Upton Adam's estate was pretty straightforward.

This document establishes that Olivia died the 27th of September 1965; unmarried at the time of her death.  She left no children or grandchildren.  Her surviving brother, Ross Upton acted as her representative.

The estate was split four ways amongst the surviving brother and heirs of the deceased brothers.  Ross Upton, surviving brother received 1/4.  The sons of Robert Upton, James and Robert Jr each received 1/8.  The daughters of Otto Upton, Margaret, Ellen, and V'Ona each received 1/12.  The daughters and son of Ernest (Parney) Upton Helen, Virginia, Jane, Jerome, and Marleen each received 1/20.

I think the most important thing to note is that while this is a legal document, it is not without errors.  Several of the names are misspelling including "Veona".

This page establishes the value of the estate: $4565.26, and the payment of the inheritance tax.

There are no outstanding claims against the estate.

The estate's monies were in the checking account of a local Pennsylvania bank.  Once again the listed schedule for distribution of funds.

Ross Upton signed off that the information presented was a true accounting.
The estate took about eight months to process through probate.
