Christmas 1947

In the late summer of 1946, Paul and Bertha Munsey vacationed with Bob and Marjorie Emmert, spending time at the Hall and Waning Ranch in Dexter, Oregon.

Card - Front
"Dear Friends

Another year gone by and with its passing we bear some of our troubles as well as pleasures behind us.  One pleasure we didn't have was seeing you dear people again.  Paul spent the major part of his vacation in the dentist chair, but was glad to have the opportunity to get his dental work done, so next year we won't have to stay home for that at least.
We will always be glad we had the vacation with Bob and Marjorie(1) instead of putting it off which we might have done.  Beth(2) is taking over where her mother let off and is doing a wonderful job of it.  She is really a darling and so thoughtful and kind to everyone.  We spend much time with she and Bob, in fact we feel like they belong to our own family."

Card - Inside

"Paul went to a doctor this year who seemed to know what his trouble was and has helped him greatly.  He feels so much better - looks it too.  I'm not going to wait so long again before writing to you.  I can't begin to visit on this little Xmas card.  I don't know why I don't sit down and write more often.  You would really be surprised if you knew how often we speak of you and your generous hospitality.  I surely hope to be "Come'n round the mountain" to see you next summer.
Until then take care of the apron and I'll put it on when I get there.

Love Bertha & Paul"
